Aldona Cisewska - is a Polish violinist born on October 4th 1967 in Bydgoszcz.
Life and career
She was born to Lucyna and Bogdan Cisewski and is the youngest of their three daughters. Her mother, a pianist herself, encouraged Aldona to pursue a musical career from an early age. She started taking violin lessons aged 6. At the age of 8, she started her lessons with Stefan Herman in Sopot and in 1980 she became pupil of Jadwiga Kaliszewska in Poznan. When she was 14, she was accepted as "Jungstudent" into the Folkwang Hochschule in Essen. She graduated with honors in the class of Vesselin Parashkevov, concertmaster of the Wiener Philharmoniker (she later became his assistant). She also studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, in the class of Yfrah Neaman. She received the Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst scholarship twice, as well as the Jurgen Point Stiftung scholarship. Beside her solistic career, she was also concertmaster of the Essener Philharmoniker and the opera in Essen. Since 2010, she holds the position of concertmaster at the Pomeranian Philharmonic in her hometown Bydgoszcz. Her artistic achievements have been praised by many critics around the world. Her engagements included concerts at the Berliner Festspiele, Essener Philharmonie, Sinfonieorchester Gelsenkirchen, Nevent-Dumont Verlag, The Golden Hall of the Musikverein in Vienna and many more. She has worked with many notable artists, including Dimitri Kitajenko, Alfred Brendel, Helen Donath, Maxim Vengerov and more. In 2010, she founded her own string quartet with concertmasters and soloists of the Pomeranian Philharmonic. In 2016, she received a PhD at the Academy of Music in Gdansk.
Private life
Aldona Cisewska currently resides in Bydgoszcz. She has one daughter, Sara Allouche, who studies vocal performance (opera).
