GoForth Institute™ is a private organization dedicated to entrepreneurship education across Canada.

Thought Leadership

[edit]

A thought leader in entrepreneurship research, GoForth Institute™ has partnered with Angus Reid Strategies™ to conduct the GoForth Institute National Entrepreneurship Sentiment Survey™ twice yearly in order to take a pulse on Canadian entrepreneurial activity.[1] Entrepreneurs across Canada are surveyed on the issues they face with their business and their overall sentiments of Canadian entrepreneurship.[2]

Entrepreneurship Education

[edit]

GoForth Institute™ also provides Canada's first national solution to entrepreneurship education.[3] A variety of courses are offered for those looking to improve their entrepreneurship and business skills, including women's-only courses offered in innovative classrooms such as art galleries. GoForth Institute™ is passionate about increasing the chances of success for entrepreneurs. Students of the GoForth course receive a 10-section workbook filled with the 100 Essential Small Business Skills that every small business owner must know in order to succeed. The workbook is also filled with exercises in order to prepare necessary documents, conduct vital research and test personal skills to better understand personal chances of success. [4] GoForth Institute™ spoke with over 200 entrepreneurs to ask what they wanted in terms of entrepreneurship education. The answer was comprehensive, relevant, timely and affordable education that is accessible to everyone. It was important for entrepreneurs to be able to fit the education into their busy and hectic schedules as a business owner. The education also had to fit their budgets - which isn't a lot in the start-up stages of a business. So, GoForth Institute delivered. Affordable, comprehensive training, covering 100 Essential Small Business Skills, in less than 30 hours. No 4 year diploma, no 2 year certificate - 30 hours, weekday evenings, to improve their chances of beating the odds and succeeding as an entrepreneur.[5]

Community Involvement

[edit]

The GoForth Institute Emerging Entrepreneur of the Year Award was presented to Kon-Strux Developments Inc.[6] in October 2009 at the Calgary Chamber of Commerce Awards Dinner Gala during Small Business Week 2009. [7]
