Samba Niang: Professional golfer

Samba Niang is a pro golfer from Senegal. Born august 28 1988. He grew up and started playing golf in senegal until the age of 15 when he went to santa barbara, California to finish his high school and improve his golf game. At age 14 he was the best amateur golfer in Senegal after winning many adult tournaments from age 10.

He received many awards as a junior and high school golfer including tri-valley league sportsman of the year (2005), Santa Barbara Junior golf player of the year (2006). He also won many high school golf titles his senior year being the captain player of the santa barbara high school team. These include channel league champion, CIF southern section champion (breaking a 35 year drought for SBHS). Samba also won a few junior tournaments in the southern california region between 2006 and 2007.

He returned home in 2007 and turned professional in 2008. He has since won 22 professional events at home also playing in many different tours around the world including PGA Nigeria tour, MENA Tour, Thai PGA Tour, West Africa Golf Tour, Safari Tour and South African Sunshine.

He is currently the only senegalese and multiple (3) winner of the Senegal Open.

Samba is also the founder of Senegal Golf League community working on golf development in Senegal organizing many tournaments free golf lessons fundraisings renovations and an amateur african championship trip for the senegalese team.

Samba is currently a Sunshine tour member looking to rise to the highest level of the golf world rankings.
