About Me

[edit]

Thank you for visiting my user page. I am a student at EvCC, majoring in Veterinary medicine.  Working with animals has always been my dream.  I want to learn how to help them and their owners when they need help.  I am currently working at a veterinary emergency clinic. I love being able to help with emergencies and regular appointments. Working at the clinic has opened my eyes to how this kind of career can be both stressful and upsetting, but not only that can also be exhilarating and heart-stirring. I also have two dogs; a Boxer named Brooklyn, a Chinese Shar-Pei named Bear, and a box turtle named Crush and a hedgehog named Rocky. Boxers are silly, sweet and mischievous. They clown around with family and friends, are patient and playful with children, but show a deliberate and wary face to strangers, responding with unmatched courage to anything that threatens their loved ones. Those characteristics are why people love them.[1]

My Wiki Interests

[edit]

I would want to do on the wiki if I were to work on content over the long term. Is to probably does some more research on wiki about how it works, and maybe add my own article about something I want people to know about that I think is essential. What I hope I can accomplish as a volunteer is being able to understand how wiki works.

Article Evaluation

[edit]

Table of continents:

[edit]
  1. Is each fact cited with an appropriate, reliable source?
  2. Are there grammar errors, or informal language?
  3. Is anything left out of the article that should be there?

I visited the Shar-Pei page on Wikipedia, and found three aspects of it worth commenting on: Is each fact cited with an appropriate, reliable source, are there grammar errors, or informal language, and is anything left out of the article that should be there.

Is each fact cited with an appropriate, reliable source?

[edit]

The article I have chosen is cited very well with the appropriate facts I am looking for; while reading this article, I have found a lot of reliable sources that relate to the topic of the Shar-Pei dog breeds. This article makes me feel confident that all the information is correct and truthful to the subject I am looking for. But there could also be more citations in some of the facts. There are varieties of ways to understand what sorts of different things there are. One of the article's facts that could use a bit more citations in the article is for Temperament; there aren't any citations that can prove what they're saying is true, making it harder for the reader to understand where all the information is coming from.

Are there grammar errors, or informal language?

[edit]

In the article, there are not that many grammar errors or informal language. The publisher does appear to be highly professional with the information they are providing in the topics of the article. But some words that are being used can be rewritten more formally to grab the reader's attention even more so they can continue reading the article without losing interest.

Is anything left out of the article that should be there?

[edit]

What the publisher should attach to the article is more about the health difficulties that Shar-Pei's are usually getting. Like how to approach an infection or disease, including how to watch out for any indications of illness and what kinds of treatments you should take. Having a lot more information about how much a Shar-Pei's health is a significant amount of guidance to the reader.
