Oliver Marco La Rosa is a German-Italian business executive. He is the co-founder and CEO of Globiance, a financial services group providing cryptocurrency exchanges with financial institutions situated in Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Estonia, and Singapore. Mr La Rosa founded Globiance with his wife Irina La Rosa in 2018. Currently, she is the company's Chief People Officer.
Early life and education
[edit]Oliver Marco La Rosa was born in Frankfurt am Main in 1979. His father Pietro La Rosa was a Financial Controller at the Fraport AG, Airport Frankfurt and his mother, Dagmar La Rosa, was a primary school teacher.
Mr La Rosa completed his high school at Wöhler Schule. He pursued a specialized high school diploma which was a year-long practical course on "System Electronics".
Personal Life
[edit]Mr La Rosa married Irina La Rosa and currently, they live with their children. Irina has an educational background in Psychology. After setting up her two ventures, she co-founded Globiance with her husband. At present, she serves in the company as the Chief People Officer. Beyond her official role, she vets new suppliers and business partners for Globiance.
Career
[edit]Oliver Marco La Rosa started his career as a systems administrator in a telecommunications company. Later, he shifted from the corporate sector to step into the entrepreneur world.
In 1999, he founded his first IT company by renting out game servers for Esports. His company, Server Arena, was the first company in Europe to rent game servers to clans. It was a period when a vast majority of the population was unfamiliar with Esports. The company enjoyed a monopoly in the German market for some time before the competition rose in the gaming field. He then worked in the banking support sector for 13 years which built his knowledge and experience of the financial market.
Mr La Rosa became an independent IT service provider and managed several projects. Later he joined Citibank where he worked as a team leader of the external Server and Production Support team for eight teams. In 2012, they moved their headquarters to Malta and provided 24/7 IT support to banks in 7 European countries until early 2018.
He also became a board member of the Maltese Italian Chamber of Commerce in April 2017.
