Hi! I'm SJTatsu. I am a tech, politics, education, and health care enthusiast. Also voracious book reader and live music fan.
Trying to do my little part to fill in the science, technology and art gaps. I focus on under-represented award-winners.
My favorite things on Wikipedia are nerdy and obscure bits of history.
I have created 14 pages as of Sept 1, 2020.
Some things I wish Wikipedians would keep in mind in AfD debates:
- Why Men Receive Much More Media Coverage than Women
- A Paper Ceiling: Explaining the Persistent Underrepresentation of Women in Printed News
- Female Athletes Receive Only 4% of Sports Media Coverage (The fact that this is in Glamour and not NY Times is perfect example of the the problem. UNESCO raises the issue, but still the NY Times does not bother to cover it.)
- Do black economists matter? The media erasure of black economic voices hurts the hardest-hit communities by the pandemic and society at large
- Economics Profession Turns Attention to its ‘Race Problem’. American Economic Association, at annual conference, plans to examine lack of minorities entering the field and the challenges they face when they do
- Study identifies a key reason black scientists are less likely to receive NIH funding
- Racism has cost Black Americans $70 trillion since the start of slavery — here's how that cost breaks down
