Rugby generally refers to either two codes of rugby football, the first being rugby union (XV) - the most widely played form of rugby, with an unlimited tackle count, rucks, scrums, lineouts and mauls (and its other shortened forms; 7 a side, 10 a side) and rugby league (XIII) a more free flowing type of rugby, with a 6 tackle count, non competitive scrums and a play the ball (and its other shortened form; 9 a side).
