Linton Park - Perich Park - Oran Park Australia
Perich Park or Linton Park will be a garden complex with architectural elements being developed and situated on a hill in Oran Park, NSW Australia. It is being designed by artist Richard Perin and expected to be built by the Perich family, who own the Leppington Pastoral Company.
Still in a conceptual stage, the location proposed was originally part of a dairy farm and is now part of a new housing development site. It is the idea of Richard Perin who is lead designer and was inspired by Macarthur Park, which is a municipal garden located in Camden.
Key features of the proposed site include the absence of European flora. Only native trees, plants and grasses will be used in its development. Typical of most gardens the site will also have a monument to the Perich family, a Gazebo, a 'secret garden' and various artistic elements including mosaic and filigree metal work. At the insistence of the designer, only natural materials such as wood, stone, metal and glass will be used in its construction.
The focal point of the park will be a heart shaped Gazebo, with a flat roof viewing platform and which overlooks a heart shaped lake. This heart shape theme is also repeated elsewhere in the park design.
