About me

[edit]

I am a student who is currently living in the Pacific Northwest. My hobbies include baking desserts, playing tennis, and taking photographs of the world around me. I also enjoy music and the outdoors. I play many various instruments including, but not limited to, the piano, clarinet, and oboe. Orchestras commonly tune to the oboe's "A" note. [1]

My Wikipedia interests

[edit]

If I am active on Wikipedia in the future, I will most likely make minor corrections and changes to various pages. Whether it is to correct untrue statements, add more information, or simply to include more in input, I plan on making very minor changes. In particular, I plan to be involved in the editing of many pages with topics ranging from well established historical figures and events, to lesser-known public figures.

Article evaluation

[edit]

I have been interested in sketch comedy for quite some time. Several years ago, I stumbled across Studio C, a sketch comedy show produced by BYUtv, and have loved it ever since. Because of my love for the show and its humorous nature, I wish to spread information about it to the best of my abilities. That being said, I visited the Studio C article on Wikipedia, and found three aspects of it worth commenting on: its accuracy, its citations, and its lack of information.

Accuracy

[edit]

While searching through this article, it was apparent that the majority of the information provided is slightly outdated, including some fairly important statistics about the show. Though the article has recently been updated within the past few weeks, the contents of the article itself are not the most recent, making some of the information no longer accurate or applicable. It is possible that some of the information within the page has not changed over time, however, updating certain pieces of information would greatly improve the validity article no matter the circumstances.

Citations

[edit]

Although the article contains a decent amount of citations, many of them date back to several years ago. In addition to this, a significant number of them are simply links to where one can watch episodes of the show, rather than sites with genuine information about the show as a whole. It seems as though there are not many citations from a wide range of sites and resources. Including a handful of new, more recent citations could definitely strengthen the article as a whole.

Information

[edit]

In addition, the article focuses mainly on the contents of each episode within the show, and there is very little mention of the show as a whole. Although a summary of the episodes might be helpful to some, it seems as though that information is quite superfluous in the case at hand. Including a broader range of information within the article would certainly do no harm.

Summary

[edit]

Overall, I would say this page is decent. While it does have its flaws, the article does a fair job at briefly summarizing the show as a whole. That being said, there are a plethora of things that could be worked on. Many of the facts, as well as citations, should be updated in order to confirm the validity of the information provided. It would also be of best interest to expand the range of information provided in order to give the readers a broader knowledge of the topic.
