Born and raised in Queens, Ron Lee is proud to still reside in the community where he grew up and where his parents, grandparents, cousins and two aunts still live.

Ron did leave briefly, spending some time in Orlando where he landed his first on-air reporting job for NY1’s sister station, Spectrum News 13. He's also a familiar face in the NY1 newsroom. Ron has had two previous stints at the station, one working behind the scenes as a media editor in NY1's ingest room, and the other as a freelance reporter.

Today, Ron keeps New Yorkers informed on the best way to navigate the five boroughs as a NY1 traffic anchor. You'll also find him out in the field, covering stories as a general assignment reporter.

A dedicated journalist, Ron was nominated for an Emmy Award for his special coverage of how neighborhoods impacted by Superstorm Sandy were doing two years later. Ronald also traveled to the Philippines to work on a documentary following medical professionals donating their time to perform life-saving open heart surgery on young people living in poverty. Ronald says he will never forget how grateful these children and their families were to be given a chance at life.

Outside the newsroom, Ron loves spending quality time with his niece and nephew. He can also be spotted in Central Park, biking around the loop or catching up with old friends.
