This award was itself eaten by a bear, when it's creator was indefinitely blocked. I chose to rescue it, and reproduce the original citation below:
"Inspired by the talk page of User:DaisLite, when he said his welcome message was EATEN BY BEARS. I got a guffaw out of this and it cheered me up from its randomness. So, I made a barnstar out of the occasion.
Basically, the Barnstar that was EATEN BY A BEAR or the "Bearnstar" as it is sometimes colloquially called, is awarded after random or spontaneous statements that either cause laughter or instances where a user might be sick of awarding a normal barnstar and needs a different barnstar to award. However, those rules are pretty loose."
