Roadapathy is a Wikipedia users dedicated to filling up the open source world Encyclopedia with information; specifically, information that is accurate, honest, fair, unbiased. Education is the key to the success of people everywhere and it should be freely accessible to every person regardless of their class, income or location.
It a world that suffers from oppression of the elites and injustice, it is important that Wikipedia remains as accurate as possible and must be as complete as possible. Certainly there are those who will not accept Wikipedia as canonical or authoritative. Opponents may argue that Wikipedia does not have the academic checks and balances but it could be argued the same for many other publications. The old idea that if something is in a book and has been published then it must be correct, is deeply flawed. It isn't difficult to prove this argument wrong. A good case against this would be older history textbooks. It could also be argued that Wikipedia is growing more and more accurate each minute of the day and therefore could one day obtain a more authoritative status than that of any published source.
There is a war, in academia, against latent functions. Information sources can contain a hidden agenda; especially from any religious or political source. An example might be the CIA members entries into the Wikipedia, a political action group members entries or somebody from the Westboro Baptist Church. Although these people may have a lot of authoritative information, they will not be so easily capable of sharing it objectively. Wikileaks creator may also be working from a hidden agenda and it should be noted. Therefore, Wikipedia makes a better platform for the world to raise the education level of each person most effectively and the information that it contains is no worse, and possibly much better, than a popularly accepted canonical source.
I will do my utmost to maintain a fair and unbiased information reporting avoiding, as much as possible, my own hidden agenda. I will do my best to break from from all latent functions and maintain my education through public schools who are free from religious or political affiliations. I will continue to be inspired by such people as Ashoka of India who, although making very tragic and horrible mistakes early in his life, became wiser and more fair to all of mankind each day until his own sacrificial death. Although Ashoka was a deeply devote Buddhist, he maintained objectability and encouraged freedom of religious expression encouraging the people to come together in a non-religious manner in order to promote the highest level of peace, prosperity and acceptance to the world.
