User:Rich Farmbrough/The Queen's Award to Industry (1966)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Queen's Award to Industry (later The Queen's Awards for Export and Technology and The Queen's Award for Enterprise) was awarded on 21 April 1966 (the Queen's official birthday), by Queen Elizabeth II. The award was established by royal warrant in 1965, and 1966 was the first year the award was made.

The award, from 1966 to 1975 was always made either "for export achievement", "for technological innovation" or was a combined award "for export achievement; and for technological innovation" it was not possible to win two awards, one for "for export achievement" and "for technological innovation".[1] Conversely in 1976 the combined awards were discontinued.[1]
