About Me
[edit]Hi! I am a student at Rice University studying chemistry and minoring in Policy, Justice, and Human Capabilities. I hope to learn more about Wikipedia in the coming weeks and make useful contributions to articles that interest me.
This user is a student editor in Wikipedia:Wiki_Ed/Rice_University/Poverty,_Justice,_and_Human_Capabilities_(Fall_2017). Student assignments should always be carried out using a course page set up by the instructor. It is usually best to develop assignments in your sandbox. After evaluation, the additions may go on to become a Wikipedia article or be published in an existing article. |
Interests
[edit]I am interested in researching and writing about political repression in China; I will touch upon political repression conducted both over the Internet and in person. I am interested in this topic, because I would like to gain a better understanding of how political censorship and repression shape the perspectives of Chinese citizens and their understanding of the world.
I will be building off of two existing articles on Wikipedia: Censorship in China and Human Rights in China. Within the Censorship in China article, I will write about how China uses censorship to limit discussion and awareness of certain political and ideological positions. In the Human Right in China article, I will write about large-scale political activism in the past, the pro-democracy movement, and the political oppression of various ethnic groups within China.
