- Contribution to the article related to the Villa Gallarate Scotti, a piece of heritage in the area of Vimercate:Villa Gallarati Scotti, Vimercate
DESCRIPTION OF THE CONTRIBUTION AND USE OF SOURCES
[edit]In the article about Vimercate I have explained the etimology of the name "Vimercate" and provided information about its ancinet history explaining how the city has evolved starting from a Roman castrum. I have also named and briefly described some of the main sights of Vimercate (in particular i have cited the Ponte di S. Rocco, The Church of Virgin Mary and the Villa Borromeo). I have then provided additional information about the places listed in the "Main sights" section of the article, focussing on The Church of Virgin Mary, Palazzo Trotti and Villa Sottocasa. Finally i have listed the two awards that Vimercate received after WW2. In order to add this information I have used both online and offline sources:
- "Portiamoci a Vimercate" written by Giuse Carini Inzaghi (Vimercate (M.B.), Arti Grafiche Mattavelli, 2009)--> information about the origin of the name Vimercate and about The Church of Virgin Mary
- "VIMERCATE- raccolta di notizie storiche" written by Luigi Penati (Vimercate (M.B.), Tipografia Luigi Penati e Figli, 1957)-->more information about the etymology of Vimercate, information about the ancient castrum, The Church of Virgin Mary, Palazzo Trotti and Villa Sottocasa
- https://www.comune.vimercate.mb.it/it/page/la-citta-di-vimercate: website of the municipality --> information about the post WW2 era
In the article about the Villa Gallarati Scotti I have added further information about the history of the villa, focussing in particular on the works made on the garden and on the works commisioned by Tommaso Gallarati Scotti, G. Carlo Gallarati Scotti and G. Giacomo Gallarati Scotti. In order to add this information I have used the following sources:
- "VIMERCATE- raccolta di notizie storiche" written by Luigi Penati (Vimercate (M.B.), Tipografia Luigi Penati e Figli, 1957)
- https://www.museomust.it/collezioni/scheda/?cod_collezione=a&id_scheda=3(The website of the local museum of Vimercate)

STAKEHOLERS INVOLVED
[edit]While working on this project I involved some local stakeholders, my family personally knows the authors or some relatives of the authors of the books I used as sources and I also used the online reosurces of the MUST museum, the local museum of Vimercate.
