Dr. Riad Almasri DDS, FAO, FICOI Prosthodontist Adjunct Faculty of Post-Grad Prosthodontics at NSU College of Dental Medicine Fellow of the Academy of Osseointegration Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantology Dr. Almasri is a specialized Implant-Prosthodontic surgeon. He received his D.D.S. (Doctor of Dental Surgery) and graduated with honors in 2003, ranking 1st in the oral surgery honors class. Dr. Almasri practiced general dentistry for several years prior to entering Nova SE University College of Dental Medicine in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, where he received his specialty certificate in Prosthodontics, serving as a Chief Resident and teaching other residents dental implant surgery.
He is currently an Adjunct Faculty member of the College of Dental Medicine’s Post-Grad Prosthodontic program. Prior to entering the Prosthodontic program at Nova SE University, Dr. Almasri worked as a dental technician. In addition to private practice, Dr. Almasri served as a Clinical Assistant Professor at Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, Texas. Dr. Almasri is on the board of review for research papers and articles before they get published in the Journal of Prosthodontics. He has also established the FastNewSmile® brand for the one-day dental implant procedure, and was named The Zygomatic Implant Expert by his peers.
Not only does he perform the FastNewSmile® and Zygomatic Implant procedures, but he also gives lectures about the procedure to dentists locally and nationwide. Dr. Almasri’s passion to give his best to patients inspired him to go to the Medical College of Georgia to get his Anesthesia training so that he could offer IV sedation to his patients.
Overall, Dr. Almasri is a pioneer in the world of dental implants.
Dr. Almasri’s research project involved a laboratory study that measured and compared the accuracy of cast implant frameworks versus implant frameworks made with a CADCAM milling protocol. The project and resultant paper won in the Table Clinic competition at the American College of Prosthodontists’ 39th annual meeting in San Diego.
The paper has since been published in the Journal of Prosthodontics. His research was one of the university centers’ utilized data, and he was a contributing author, to a paper that was published in the International Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Implants.
Dr. Almasri excels in his area of expertise — prosthodontics and the surgical placement of dental implants. In addition to private practice, Dr. Almasri enjoys lecturing to both general dentists and specialists. He gives hands-on courses in the Department of Continuing Education at Nova SE University and is scheduled to provide further continuing cducation courses at the same institution and to present in meetings across the country.
Dr. Almasri is a Fellow of the Academy of Osseointegration (most elite national organization), a distinguished accomplishment achieved by just over 100 colleagues in the United States (Research Committee and Young Clinicians Committee). He is a Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, an active member of the American College of Prosthodontists, the American Dental Association, the Texas Dental Association and the Dallas County Dental Society. Dr Almasri is also a key opinion leader for the Straumann Group and a global education expert.
Dr. Almasri is a member of the American Academy of Facial Aesthetics.
