I am a Graduate student at the University of Toronto's Faculty of Information, in the Archives and Records Management stream. I have a particular interest in Intangible Cultural Heritage, the archive, and the possible implications of using technology to safeguard ICH, with respect to copyright and ownership. Though originally from Ontario, Canada, I've travelled and lived extensively in small communities across Canada, including parts of the Northwest Territories, Nova Scotia, Saskatchewan, British Columbia, and Newfoundland and Labrador. As such, I've witnessed first hand the challenges presented in conserving the activities, language and oral traditions that encompass how we conceive of culture. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Journalism and New and Emerging Media Technologies and have previously held positions with both the Ontario Museum Association and Parks Canada as digital media assistants.
