My thoughts on Wikipedia
[edit]We all need information - our lives depend on it. Free access to information then is an essential service. Wikipedia provides that. But, we all know (or should know) that you cannot believe something just because it was written. Hence, the value of Wikipedia is having multiple eyes (and pens) on each page, creating a concensus. Of course, the concensus can also be wrong (remember how "they" said the world was flat), so informed editing is the key to Wikipedia's success.
