Thank you for your comments, I was being harrassed by some stupid vandal a few days ago trying to get all my info, even emailing one of my friends to try to find out my address, luckly the harrasment stopped for now. I had no time to deal with this type of bullshit, especially with people like Brandt and certain members of the Wikipedia Review around harrasing more editors to leaving, and I needed a break. Chess Blogs Spam?
[edit]Hello I wanted to open a discussion about your edit regarding chess blogs. I feel that chess blogs are not spam and should be at least given a place in the chess category. What would be be a better way to handle this? Maybe creating a category for chess blogs would be better. Explaining the history of chess blogs and what they do for the chess community... how they are used etc. Would this be ok? Please let me know.
Dennis
Got your last message. Not sure if I am using the talk feature correctly. I would like to start a new section for chess blogs. Not on the main page for now but as a separate section and if you feel it is a worthy section maybe then we can link to it. Would it be ok if I start a chess blog section?
Dennis
Hi thanks for your last message. I will compile and create an article including the history and other information you listed. I appreciate your help with this.
Sincerely,
Dennis

[edit]re fort liquordale -- the sheer number of these sources, even if one standfing alone would be insufficient, seems like evidence enough that this is a widely used term. And please don't take the uncivil tone with me. I am an experienced editor with many, many good faith edits. Captaintruth 20:59, 6 June 2006 (UTC)
- thanks for the apology. however, you have not yet responded to my central point, which is that slang expressions, while they can be notable, often do not have "credible" sources and thus sometimes a very large number of less than credible sources using the term as described in the article can be sufficient to establish notability, especially when the term in question is in very wide usage. Unknown IP user
[edit]An editor using the IP address 75.3.82.7 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · filter log · WHOIS · RDNS · RBLs · http · block user · block log) has been poorly editing WGN-TV by making various stylistic errors. I have re-reverted back to previous (stylistically correct) versions but this user continues to flip back to their version, which can be considered as vandalism. I have tried a WHOIS search to find their origin, but was unsuccessful. So, I'm fowarding this request to you in hopes that this unknown user can be found and then blocked from editing. - I agree with Jaranda. We have to strive toward removing minor trivia details from a general interest encyclopedia. That is what external links are for; links to various sites dealing with the music video(s). No, I'm not into rap :) — Deckiller 19:47, 22 June 2006 (UTC)

Hi Jaranda, I wanted to let you know that I deprodded this article based on the outcome of the recent discussion on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Annieville Elementary School and some other schools. If this were to go to AfD, the consensus would likely be to keep it. Regards, Accurizer 22:15, 22 June 2006 (UTC)
I was seeing several schools being deleted by prod recently and I though it was safe to nominate schools for deletion again as I don't really do AFD anymore, still nn and Annieville Elementary School was a mass AFD of alot of schools anyways. Thanks Jaranda wat's sup 22:49, 22 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, Jaranda, thank you for signing up to participate in the trading spaces program. As you requsted to have your user page renovated by another user, Joturner will be renovating your userpage. Please contact Joturner on their talk page about the renovating. The renovating will be listed at Wikipedia:WikiProject_User_Page_Help/Trading_Spaces#Undergoing_Renovation, please feel free to update the status as it changes. Enjoy!
- Hello there. Do you have a problem with me renovating your page? (it's entirely your decision) If not, some guidance on what you would like done to your user page would be appreciated. joturner 22:00, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
- Here's my best attempt to keep things simple, but still maintain my creativity. Relevant images are at Image:Pin-45left.png, Image:Pin-45right.png, and Image:Jaranda.png and relevant subpages are at User:Joturner/Jaranda's User Page/PinLeft and User:Joturner/Jaranda's User Page/PinRight. Your comments, suggestions, etc. are, of course, appreciated. joturner 04:55, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
- By the way, you can always add more items (perhaps more userboxes between the main note and the wide barnstar box). I tried to explain that a bit in a comment I put on the page (that you can only see while editing), but that may not have been enough information. Anyway, moving stuff around simply means adding and subtracting from the top:, left:, and right: attributes until you get the desired location. I'm sure you'll figure it out quickly, but if you end up using this design and want my help, you can always contact me and I'll explain it in greater detail. joturner 05:21, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
- Hold that thought; I have to fix a few things, thanks to my friend Internet Explorer. joturner 15:35, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
- Alright; I'm done (I hope). It doesn't look perfect in Internet Explorer, but I'm not going to lose sleep over this one pixel (it either will look perfect in Firefox or in Internet Explorer). Anyway, back to what's really importnat for me: building the encyclopedia or at least something in the real world. joturner 20:39, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
I'd suggest moving the subpages, User:Joturner/Jaranda's User Page/PinLeft and User:Joturner/Jaranda's User Page/PinRight, to your userspace. joturner 21:03, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
- As you could probably guess from the change I made to your userpage, I moved the two subpages to your userspace and changed the transclusions. I'm going to request speedy deletions from the subpages in my userspace and the draft version in my userspace, if that's alright with you (I'm not sure why it wouldn't be). joturner 21:23, 25 June 2006 (UTC)

Version 0.5
[edit]Hi Jaranda, I hope you're recuperating nicely. Thanks again for your hard work at Version 0.5. As the other main reviewer, I was wondering what you thought about the format on the Version 0.5 page. I thought our original layout had a few flaws, but I really dislike the new format, mainly the loss of the ten category system we originally approved by discussion & vote. The original layout matches with the ten {{V0.5}} categories and with the ten categories on the nominations page. I did comment on this, but no one has responded. I don't know if they're being too polite to disagree, or whether they really don't mind! Before I do anything, I'd like to at least know your thoughts on this.
By the way, you might be pleased to know that yesterday we passed the 10,000 mark for no. of assessed articles here, and WikiProjects are adding themselves almost daily! This information will be an invaluable resource for Wikipedia 1.0 once it becomes established right across Wikipedia! Thanks, Walkerma 04:08, 27 June 2006 (UTC)

Q: Is the glass half-full or half-empty? The question relates to a commonly used phrase that asks whether you are an optimist or a pessimist. David D. (Talk) 20:54, 27 June 2006 (UTC)

- To the pessimist, the glass is half empty.
- To the engineer, the glass is twice as big as it needs to be.
- To JAranda.......fill in the blank....
No probs
[edit]I think it's cool to change it as it's a statement of feeling at a given time which can change, and obviously your mind has changed since then, but I think you should have been on top of it and my rationale to oppose still stands. If it turns out that you've had to "spend" 1 support vote and "buy" 1 oppose to notice it and still get through that would be fine with me. I know, if successful, you'll grow into the post with support from existing admins, myself included if there's anything I can do. I won't go as far as adding diffs to the previous version although I might have to make a note that the quote has changed, if only to make my votes make sense. I know what going through a close RfA is like, hope you're sleeping well and good luck! Deizio talk 00:53, 28 June 2006 (UTC)
