Hi, I'm Elisabeth, or Lis, and I'm the New Media Specialist for Vestergaard Frandsen. That means, I get to explain what Twitter is to the CEO, play on Facebook, and run the day-to-day operations of the corporate website. I am UX girl but dabble heavily in graphic design and social media issues, which brings me here to Wikipedia.
As a writer at heart (I just graduated with a BFA in it), the dearth of quality content on some issues of development, clean water, and neglected tropical diseases, issues very important to VF and to me personally, on the wider web and sometimes on Wikipedia makes my fingers itch. I want to help improve the quality and scientific breadth of content on these topics, especially since more and more people want to know more about malaria or the causes of poor sanitation in the developing world. Half my working day already is spent researching these issues (my first full week in this job meant reading a huuuuuge vector manual), and so, I think I can add the scientific footnotes that others may have missed. (All non-VF, of course.)
I won't be editing articles that are directly related to VF, including LifeStraw, one of VF's products (and pretty awesome, IMHO), but I will be commenting liberally on other pages that are related, such as mosquito nets.
I am posting all of this in a good faith effort. Please contact me if you have any thoughts or questions or ideas on how I can do better!
