Warburg Pincus has provided $600 million capital commitment to Delonex Energy for pursuing it's exploration program in East and Central Africa, making Delonex Energy the largest private equity bank startups in it's region.[4]
Expertise
[edit]The Delonex team is vastly experienced in seismic, FTG and other imaging and basin modeling techniques. Delonex Energy emphasizes on strong execution and the right use of technology and is. The use of advanced technology, coupled with a well designed drilling program, has helped the Delonex team establish a 7 billion barrel oil resource with a production potential of over 300,000 barrels in the deserts of Western India, as well as successful exploration in deep waters off Sri Lanka. Delonex Energy shall continue to build on successful experiences of the team by adopting innovative drilling techniques which can help deliver wells more effectively, (for example, the use of pad-based mobile rigs for onshore wells reduces drilling times by half). The company shall also also apply Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) techniques such as the early implementation of polymer and surfactant floods, which can increase recovery factors to over 50%.
The Delonex team has been associated with many successes, which opening the frontier Mannar Basin in Sri Lanka and completing 3D Seismic/3-well deepwater programme within 3 years of being awarded the licence; defining the full potential of Barmer Basin in Rajasthan, India. Established 1.7 billion barrels recoverable resource base (7 bn bbls in place); extending the Krishna Godavari oil plays onshore in South East India; achieving the first oil production in Western India within 5.5 years of discovery and establishing an organization that operates over 20,000 boepd.
The company has extensive experience in developing pipelines and processing infrastructure to deliver oil and gas to customers in developing markets. Energy exports will also be critical to creating value. The team has strong relationships with all major oil gas customers across Asia.
