JOSEPH KUBENDE was born in a small village called Namawanga, Bahai in Kimilili Ward of the Bungoma County-Western Kenya. He grew up through difficulty occasioned by his lack of patience and mischief. Born to a very religious mother, the traditional believer, that was his father – complicated matters even more for him. So episodic is the story of his life that whenever it is told, it risks being viewed as fiction. His life is one full story clothed in intriguing episodes. In Search of Goldis an intriguing story with challenging encounters. The story is based on the life of Joseph, a character who experiences slightly more than what a person under normal circumstances can experience even in three lifetimes. All that comes to him both in childhood and adulthood has served to build a very strong-willed character able to stand any form of atrocity. Experiential stories record that the most dangerous animal on the planet and the swiftest in attack is a tiger, yet the humility with which it makes its steps when not provoked is amazing. “For sure the gentle steps of a tiger are not a sign of cowardice.” ...
