Caption1
The Amber Squad were a Pub Rock/New Wave band active between the late 70's and early 80's. They were formed in Oakham, Rutland. They came together from two other local bands, Reflex and Blueprint. Their blend of high energy Power Pop and Rhythm and Blues attracted large crowds in and around the UK. Their debut single "I can't Put My Finger On You", ( S+T Records) gained considerable airplay on Radio One. Notably becoming 'David "Kid" Jensen's' record of the week. It was also featured on Radio One's 'Round Table and was also played by 'John Peel' and 'Mike Read' among others.
S+T Records then released a compilation album called, "Where The Hell Is Leicester?", which featured The Amber Squad track "Six Of Me".
The Amber Squad were soon signed to 'Dead Good Records', and released their second single, "Can We Go Dancing", which also gained the attention of 'Radio One's 'John Peel' and 'Kid Jensen'.
