Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Panchavati (JNVP) is a boarding school near Panchavati, Uttara Kannada, India. JNVP is funded by the Ministry of Human Resources Development., Govt. of India.

History

JNV Uttara Kannada was established in 1986 at a place called Shetageri near Ankola,Uttara Kannada by Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti. After 2 years it shifted to a building in Kumta. Famous local social leader Shri. Shreepad Hegde Kadave donated 30 acres of land free of cost near Malgi for Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya to build its own campus. In 1997, the school was relocated from Kumta to its own campus located at Panchavati.

Campus

JNVP is located near a small town Malagi, Mundgod taluk on the banks of Dharma reservoir backwaters. It is spread over 30 acres of campus on either side of SH 69 which connects coastal town Kumta with Tadas. District headquarters Karwar is about 141km and well connected by road.

Connectivity

It is located on SH 69, one of the major roads which link North Karnataka with coastal Karnataka. Sirsi is about 25km from JSNVP connected by SH 69. Buses frequently ply to and from Sirsi to Hubli stop in front of JNVP. Most buses which travel towards Hubli and Sirsi have a stop at JNVP bus stop. Nearest railway station Haveri is about 68km from JNVP. Nearest Airport is Hubli which is about 81km from JNVP.
