Synchronized surfing is the recently pioneered sport of superaquatic choreography. While surfing is traditionally not conceptualized as a group sport, synchronized surfing stems from the attempt to create community out of an otherwise solitary activity. Neal Ratner, the foremost exponent of the sport, was credited with its creation on July 14, 2010, at a bowling alley, where his technique was noticed by two colleagues.
