Rafiq Parwana (Urdu: رفیق پروانہ); (born January 1,1981) is a Pakistani media professional, producer, content writer, journalist, and a political analyst.
He was born in a small town Dawarian (106 km from Muzaffarabad at the altitude of 1,615 m) in Neelum district (largest district of AJK) in a Kashmiri (Khawaja) family.
Rafiq Parwana initially worked as journalist with numerous mainsteam Pakistani newspapers/news agencies and currently works in Broadcast Media Industry in Islamabad. Previously he has been working with Dunya News, Waqt News TV, PTV (Pakistan Television Corporation) & Capital Tv.

Family
Rafiq Parwana belongs to a literary and educationist family. He is of Kashmiri origin. Parwana’s grandfather Khawaja Fateh Joo was a notable person of the area in Dogra regime. His father Khawaja Abdul Majeed is not only a famous educationist/reformer of the valley but is known for his services to promote education in Azad Kashmir. He (Khawaja Abdul Majeed) is one of the earliest of the valley (Neelum) who got Master of Sciences degree from University of Punjab in 70’s. He (Khawaja Abdul Majeed) served as a Director of Physical Education (DPE) in the Department of Education, Azad Government of the State of Jummu & Kashmir till 2000.
Rafiq Parwana has two brothers & two sisters. His elder brother, Khawaja Saeed Shad is also an educationist and serves the same department as his father. His younger brother Dr Shafiq Ahmed Billore is a Ph.D scholar from University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) and is a research scholar at University of Florida, a University in Gainesville, Florida USA.
Education
Rafiq Parwana studied and completed his secondary education at Bha Uddin Bhar Government Boys High School Dawarian. He received his intermediate degree from Board of Intermediat and Secondary Education Mirpur and his Bachelor of Arts (B.A) & Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) degrees from Allama Iqbal Open University Islamabad. He earned his Master of Science (M.Sc) degree in mass communications from the National University of Modern Languages in 2011. Rafiq Parwana earned diploma in Gemmology from Gem & Jewelry Institution Colombo, Sri Lanka on a Government sponsored scholarship.
Journalistic career
Rafiq Parwana joined the Waqt News TV (Islamabad) in 2010 and worked there as an internee sub-editor, reporter, feature writer and assistant producer. Then he joined ONLINE - International News Network, one of the largest news agencies in Pakistan. After getting reasonable experience of the print as well as the electronic media, he finally turned to Broadcast media and joined Dunya News first and later PTV (Pakistan Television Corporation) & Capital Tv. He as a producer produced different talk shows of many famous & top level news & current affair anchors like Nasim Zehra & Mohammad Malick. He along with a pannel interviewed President of Pakistan Mamnoon Hussain and many other political leaders during General Elections 2013.
