Description
[edit]The Impossible Game is a game developed by FlukeDude. The objective is to jump over spikes and squares which are placed in positions where they are hard to avoid. The player is an orange square, who has the ability to jump at a height of 2 spikes placed on top of eachother. Every object is the same size, excluding the floor and the pit/black lava, which is nearly flat. There are 5 levels in total (if counting the level pack and the new iPhone level). Each one includes new twists.
The Spike
[edit]The Spike is a triangle the player must jump over. They come in "groups", such as the triple spike and double spike. However, it is less used than the block, because it cannot make platforms the player can stay onto. The spike is grey-bluish and has a white outline.
The Block
[edit]The Block is a square that can be jumped onto, but you lose if you touch it's edge or jump from underneath it. It can also sustain other blocks and spikes and float, just like the spike. The block is the most commonly found object, becauase it can make safe platforms and help with jumping over quadruple spikes. The block is black in color, with a white outline.
The Floor
[edit]The floor is an object with an unknown lenght, since it fades at the edges. The floor is the place the player starts on when a level starts and it is also the only place where a pit can be placed onto. It is affected by gravity switches, but not by falling objects and objects flying up, unlike the pit.
It is unknown what the lenght of the floor is, because if the player was both moving and jumping, we couldn't know if it has an edge behind the player, and when the player finishes the level, everything fades out, giving us no clue if it is infinite or not. Or, if the player only jumped and the objects slided, we would still not know if the lenght of the floor is infinite or not.
The Pit
[edit]The pit is a nearly flat object that is only found on the floor, and that kills the player no matter of where it is touched from. Like the floor and unlike the spike and the block, the pit is on "the grid's line", meaning that instead of snapping an a grid "square", it is snapping on a horizontal line. The pit is entirely black in colour, and almost as thick as half of a block.
The Player
[edit]The player is the object the "real life player" controls. It can jump just by tapping the screen. It is destroyed if it touches a spike, a pit, the edge of a block or if it jumps from underneath a block. It's jump height is about 2 blocks tall.
Levels
[edit]The Impossible Game has 5 levels (if counting the level pack and the new iPhone level). In order of difficulty the would be: Fire Aura (Xbox Indie), Fire Aura (iPhone), Phazd, Chaoz Fantasy and Heaven. Phazd is the newest level to be released.
