The QBS-09 is a Chinese semi-automatic shotgun designed by the 208th Institute of China Ordnance Industry and used by the People's Liberation Army and People's Armed Police.[1]
History
[edit]Designed between 2005 and 2009 by the 208th Institute of China Ordnance Industry,[1] the QBS-09 was adopted by the People's Liberation Army in 2009,[1] and has also been approved for use by the People's Armed Police.[1]
Design and features
[edit]The QBS-09 uses an annular gas piston system around the magazine tube.[1] The gas system has a manually adjusted gas regulator, with three positions: cut-off (marked “0”) for firing low energy less-lethal ammunition; standard (“1”) and “harsh environment” (“2”). Standard ammunition is steel cased DBD-09 12-gauge anti-personnel shells, though most commercial ammunition.[1] Less-lethal ammunition can also be used with manual cycling.[1]
The QBS-09 has rifle-type iron sights, adjustable for 50 and 100 metres.[1] A QBZ-95 scope rail is fitted to the top of the receiver.[1]
