About me
[edit]Thank you for visiting my page. I'm going into my senior year of high school and first year of college through running start. I currently have a job at a retail establishment and do landscaping on the side. I want to attend the University of Washington to study for a degree in mechanical engineering. Mechanical engineers design and create various products for consumers to purchase[1]. My other hobbies include running hurdles in track and baking treats (from macarons to pretzels) for family and friends.
My Wikipedia interests
[edit]My interest in Wikipedia is for college courses, specifically my English 101 class. I also use Wikipedia to inform myself of things I am interested in, for example, Josef Mengele's medical research in Auschwitz. If I were to work here long-term or voluntarily, I would edit and publish pages that fascinate and entertain me.
Article Evaluation
[edit]I have always taken a liking to country music, and one of my favorite artists is Morgan Wallen. One of my most liked songs by him is Dangerous. In my opinion, this song needs more recognition, so I visited the Dangerous (Morgan Wallen song) article on Wikipedia, and found three aspects of it worth commenting on: organization, bias and tone, and citations.
Organization
[edit]Although there is some organization on the page, it needs some further help. The article does not have a reliable table of contents for its viewers to see what kind of information could be on the page. It does look like there is a mini chart at the bottom, which seems unnecessary compared to a more in-depth one at the top. The chart at the bottom does not contain all of the categories that the article contains, so it is not entirely accurate.
Bias and Tone
[edit]The bias and tone of this page are somewhat formal and quite neutral. The author's writing is mostly formal, but they included quotes from Wallen's song that aren't. The tone of this page is very neutral and expresses almost no opinion on the Morgan Wallen song.
Citations
[edit]The citations for this article are interesting; about two-thirds of them are from the same source, Billboard[2]. While it is a page about the song, having 67% of sources from the same website is a little unusual, but it is acceptable given that it is only about chart performance. The other third of the citations the author included were somewhat reliable because they were written by music reporters that have positive reviews.
Summary
[edit]Overall, I would rate this article as "mostly decent". The page's range of information wasn't very wide, but given that it is only about one singular song, it is understandable. The organization of the Wikipedia page could have been better by adding more accuracy to the information that the article was conveying. This page's bias and tone are somewhat formal and very neutral. Citations for this page were very particular to one source, and there is no way to check if it is reliable or not.
