This user is a student editor in Wikipedia:Wiki_Ed/University_of_San_Francisco/RHET_295_Writing_in_Electronic_Environments_(Fall_2015). Student assignments should always be carried out using a course page set up by the instructor. It is usually best to develop assignments in your sandbox. After evaluation, the additions may go on to become a Wikipedia article or be published in an existing article. |
Background
[edit]My name is Roxanne, I'm a current student at University of San Francisco majoring in nursing that originally transferred from San Francisco State University. I was born and raised in San Francisco, California so I'm pretty use to the bipolar weather, but I can never get use to the fog. My current goals are to graduate college and travel whenever I can. There are many more goals I wish to accomplish like bungee jumping to get over my fear of heights, but that will have to wait. In terms of Wiki, I've used Wiki to look up various things especially during high school to look up things like history dates as well looking up celebrities, but never have I created or edited a page. I've always heard of the problem with Wiki is that anyone can edit and because of that it makes certain things inaccurate. Personally I've never run into any inaccurate info, but it probably can happen. At the same time I think that it's also less likely that it would since Wiki has gotten more advanced and been around for a while now. Even though I knew that anyone can edit, I really had no idea how to do it. I tried it one time sometime during high school, but I couldn't figure it out so I gave up. I find it interesting that I'm in this spot about to contribute to a page and that ordinary people like students can create and edit. I guess in a way you could say I was skeptical on whether "anyone" could edit.
