Bharat Koop

Bharatkoop is a town situated on NH-35 at Chitrakoot District of Uttar Pradesh.It is almost 20 Km far away from district[1]-headquarter of Chitrakoot.

The extension of series of Vindhan mountains can also be seen in this town.The appearance of mountains makes passersby jorney cool and enchanting with its natural geographical shape.

o attain Salvation, the pilgrimage to Chitrakoot is incomplete without a visit to this hallowed place of worship. It is said that , to crown Lord Rama as the king of Ayodhya, his brother Bharat, collected the waters of all sacred rivers to anoint him with.

On the advice of Sage Atri, the waters were later poured into a deep well popularly known as Bharat Koop.Therefore,The name Bhartkoop derived from that well.A temple dedicated to Lord Rama is also found here.

Chitrakoot is considered in the list of backward districts.Here,Most of the people primarily engages in agriculture.There are some stone mills which supplies stones of different sizes to neighboring areas located in its vicinity.

It is connected via road and Railways with the district.Since,NH-35 passes through Bharatkoop.So, transportation facility is good here.
