If waiting time is an accurate indication of the most popular rides at Tokyo Disneyland, then Pooh's on top -- be prepared for a wait of just under two and a half hours to take part in "Pooh's Hunny Hunt." Featuring Winnie the Pooh and his friends from the Hundred Acre Wood, the attraction, states Disney's Web site, "is alive with unpredictable excitement." The wait for "Big Thunder Mountain," by contrast, is less than half that for Pooh, but still over one hour (70 min.). Other park favorites, and their respective waiting times, included "Splash Mountain" (52 min.); "Mickey's House and Meet Mickey" (51 min.); Peter Pan (50 min.); "Space Mountain" (48 min.); "Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin" (46 min.), and "Dumbo" (44 min.). Don't feel like waiting? You can board "Pirates of the Caribbean" in about 13 minutes.

EXCERPT FROM WIKI PAGE: The next version of the attraction, considerably different in configuration, was Pooh's Hunny Hunt, which opened in Tokyo Disneyland. Due to a closure of all of the Skyways at Disney Parks across the world, including Tokyo, a space was left where the Fantasyland Skyway station once stood. With a budget of over $130 million, and featuring a never-before-used 'trackless' ride technology, Pooh's Hunny Hunt opened in late 2000 to large crowds and praise by many Disney internet fansites. To date, the attraction continues to have some of the longest wait times of any attraction at the Tokyo Disneyland Resort.

EXCERPT FROM SOURCE: It might seem odd to American park regulars, but Tokyo Disneyland's Winnie the Pooh ride is one of the best, most popular attractions in entire resort. The thing is, Tokyo's version isn't the relatively simple ride past two-dimensional cutouts that U.S. audiences are accustomed to. Instead Pooh's Hunney Hunt is a sensational journey through detailed dimensional environments featuring a groundbreaking "trackless" ride system that altogether cost north of $130 million to create according to some. The Anaheim iteration, for contrast, opened a few years later with a budget nearly two-thirds less.

The innovative local positioning system allows the ride vehicles, stylized "hunny pots," to wander, bounce and spin guests through scenes with no apparent track. Vehicles are sent off three at a time to work through each immersive setting together, with each able to take its own unpredictable route. Unfortunately for American fans there's utterly no chance this inventive attraction will ever see its way across the Pacific - Disney already gave us our requisite Winnie the Pooh rides, unspectacular as they may be in comparison.
