Giovanni Reyna (born November 13, 2002) is an American soccer player who currently plays for Borussia Dortmund of the Bundesliga. Reyna has also played for the United States national youth teams. He is the son of former United States national team captain, Claudio Reyna.

Career

Helped NYCFC U14 win Gen Adidas Premier Cup in 2017.[1] Played for the NYCFC. Made news when speculation rose about him obtaining a Portugese passport and potentially moving to Europe.[2][3] Ahead of 2018 season, Reyna began training with the first team of NYCFC.[4] Then manager Viera said it could be a possibility to sign him to a homegrown contract.[5]

On August 16, 2018 it was discovered that Reyna had obtained a Portuguese passport, and signed with Borussia Dortmund's Academy.[6]

International career

In May 2017, Reyna lead the USMNT U15s to the Torneo Delle Nazione title. In the match he scored twice to beat England 2-1 in the final.[7][8]
