The 2017 CONCACAF SuperLiga Final was the final match of the 2016–17 CONCACAF SuperLiga, the 10th season of North America's secondary club football tournament organised by CONCACAF. It was played at the Thomas Robinson Stadium in Nassau, Bahamas on 10 May 2017, between American team Seattle Sounders FC and Mexican team León. Seattle won the match 2–0 after extra time.
Seattle earned the right to play against the América, who won the 2016–17 CONCACAF Champions League in the 2017 CONCACAF Super Cup. They also qualified for the group stage of the 2017–18 UEFA Champions League, as América also qualified for the group stage through domestic performance, that meant the berth reserved for the Champions League title holders was not used and passed to the SuperLiga title holders. However, Seattle had already qualified for the Champions League through winning MLS Cup 2016 meaning that 5th place MLS finishers New York City FC qualified for Group Stage, and 6th place finishers, LA Galaxy qualified for the Champions League.
Venue
[edit]Thomas Robinson Stadium was announced as the final venue on 30 June 2015, following the decision of the CONCACAF Executive Committee meeting in Miami, United States. It is the first time a CONCACAF club final will be played in The Bahamas.
