From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The kernel of enthusiasm is the [oversimplified] idea, "What if you just dumped a giant list of headwords and wrapped them all in 'annotated link', and what you get is kind of like a gem dictionary that is dynamically updatable." In practice, it is not particularly useful, but it's worth sandboxing and fucking around with for various parametric reasons. It has potential, if one were to do certain kinds of work to add value. This is a fling.

Nature of shortdesc values:

  • gem definition
  • hypernym (including hypernymous noun phrase, semantically unitary category, not the same thing as a lexicalized collocation [often overlap/coinstantiation, often not])
  • other

On silence: disambigs are silent; missing shortdescs are silent

To-do:

  • Introduce some more coverage of polysemy and homonymy herein
