Jesse Gonzales (born May 25, 1932)[1] is an American horseshoe pitcher. He joined the National Horseshoe Pitchers Association (NHPA) in 1962 and competed in 12 World Tournaments from 1970 to 1991. He was inducted into the NHPA Hall of Fame in 2005.

Gonzales was born May 25, 1932 in Betteravia, California.[1]

Career

Gonzales threw with a "flop shoe" style[2] where the horseshoe is held at the center and thrown with a pendulum swing.[3]

Personal life

Gonzales was a San Luis Obispo Parks and Recreation Department employee.[2] He was married to his wife Sylvia for 41 years before she died in 2007 at the age of 60. They had five children, Nancy, Lisa, Sylvia, Jesse Jr., and Sarah.[4]
