Gambling in Nigeria is regulated by National_Lottery_Regulatory_Commission. The lottery was legalized with National Lottery Act, 2005 and the gambling is defined by Chapter 22 of the Criminal Code Act enacted in 1990. [1]. Despite the fact that Nigeria is still developing country in many areas the gambling law and regulation is at place. The state is very much focused to reduce the money laundering activities /The Money Laundering (Prohibition) Act, 2011/. However in the country operate a lot of illegal casinos. As many countries the law split the games between the legal and illegal games. The legal games are Lottery, land-based casino, sports betting. The games roulette, dice games, and non-skilled card games are illegal /Criminal Code Act of 1990/. The law is at place but the country is wild west with their own problems. To become legal operator to provide casino, betting or poker online you need to be licensed. To get the license is not easy as the bussiness conditions in Nigeria are not friendly.[2]. Gaming Machines (Prohibition) Act of 1977 prohibit to import the gaming machines. [3]

[edit]Nigerian law do not mention online space and there is not any restriction for the people to reach local or foreign gambling sites. Online betting is very popular and nigerian gambling sites are in top sites in Alexa ranking. Alexa Internet. [4] The most popular is sports betting, casino games and poker.
Casinos
[edit]Land based casinos are located in Lagos, Abuja, Ibadan and Port Harcourt. The biggest casino is in Lagos, Federal Palace Hotel. And as mentioned there is many underground illegal casinos which you better not visit.
Age restrictions
