Daniel Alejandro Gervacio was born July 28, 1986 in Chicago, IL. Son of Melissa Reyes and Daniel Gervacio Sr., Daniel wrestled his way silently through childhood, only to break out of the box during his Junior year of his Davidson College experience.

Childhood

[edit]

Daniel's family moved soon after his birth to the budding metropolis in the northwest Maryland hills. The home in Hagerstown, MD, placed well on top of a hillside, surrounded by wheat fields, has remained the primary family residence to this day. Flying the American flag, this Filipino family embraced American culture in their son Daniel. Daniel attended grade school in the small farming town just north of Washington, DC and transferred to the nearby boarding high school, St. James School later in life.

St. James School

[edit]

At St. James School, Daniel thrived in the coeducational college preparatory system. Even though Daniel exhibited a strongly silent demeanor, he immediately took to wrestling at the small private high school. He participated in the highly ranked MAC(Mid-Atlantic Athletic Conference) and placed very well towards the end of his career in the 135lbs weight division.

Davidson College

[edit]

Daniel began his studies at Davidson College during August of 2004. Living on the notorious First Belk hall was formative for Daniel. He spent his days with the few that continued to the the class characters throughout their Davidson days. Daniel's wrestling past was infamous and accounted for his ruthless and ugly behavior during the flickerball season. Players on other teams remember well their losses to Daniel's squad:

"First Belk, those guys were crazy. There was that one kid, the little one that didn't speak much, Daniel I think his name was. He would take your head off if he got the chance. That guy was a maniac." -Freshman Opponent
