[edit]Currently working with SAS as a Senior Development Tester and has been employed by other companies including The University of Strathclyde and NEC Semiconductors UK Ltd.

Music
[edit]Paul's main hobby is music where he writes and records in different music styles. These include 9Volts, an electronic big beat outfit, JnrJesus, a crossover industrial band, and Scarecrow, a modern rock project.
Other projects/bands in the past have included The Bass Syndicate, Diminished, Sister Sin, and The Killing Idols.
Main instruments played by Paul include guitar (electric and acoustic) and keyboards/synths
Sanctuary Studio
Sanctuary Studio is the different rooms used to aid in the writing and recording of music over the years. It has grown up from the bedroom, to a dedicated project studio, and is a major part of all the music that is done by Paul Francis and collaborating artists and friends.
Due to the constant changes in technology, and the specific needs in the different music projects, the hardware and software used has expanded and has led to extensive knowledge and experience in many of these gained.
DAW (Digital Audio Workstations)
DAW have been used and seen as the main part of different projects over the years. Originally started out with Steinbergs Cubeat on the Atari 1040 before moving over to Cubase 3 on the Apple LC475. Progerssing with the many different updates of Cubase (including Cubase VST, Cubase SL/SX) now using Cubase 7 on the iMac. With different project (remixing etc) requires using the "tools" other artists are using so required extensive use of other DAW such as Apple Logic (7, 8 and 9), Ableton Live (5, 6, 7 + 8) and Propellerheads Reason (4+5)
Studio Equipment
Many different studio equipment has been used throughout the life of the projects in the studio. This includes RME Firewire 400, M-Audio ProjectMix I/O Studio, Focusrite Saffire Pro 40, Tascam FW1804, Behringer DDX3216, Akai S950/3000XL, Roland JP-8000, Novation X-Station, M-Audio Oxygen 46,Peavey DPM3SE, Novation Nocturn, Novation BassStation (Rack), Alesis SR-16, Roland DR-606, Roland VG-88, Line 6 Pod XT Live 3 Guitar Rig, Behringer DJ-3000, Alesis Quadverb, Sony ADAT.
Computer Systems
Many different computer systems have been used over the years. These range from the original Atari 1040, Apple LC, Powermac/Powerbook to Custom PC's and iMac. The Custom PC's have been specifically built and geared towards specific Audio and Video work.
