The DVP is a skateboarding trick developed by amateur skater and over-all artisan David Vanderhoek and skater and ideas-man David Parker. It came to fruition in the former Capital city of British Columbia Canada on the morning of April 19 2015.

There are variations of the trick that go from slight to severe, however the agreed upon facts are that the trick must contain the following aspects: Shoulders are squared up, basically, and in the forward direction in Regular Foot stance the left foot is pointing forward and squared up with the right shoulder. Then, essentially, a kick-flip is executed and before landing fakie there is a reach under the gusset and a double tug motion is done using the European grip.

When asked of the new trick, at that time David P. stated that after the image and the style for their brand of mid-school street-style skating began to emerge and, he attempted to explain, after downing a few "vodka cranberry", that the concept was to take the practicality and technique of David V. combined with his own sometimes counter-culture thumb-nosing and blatant 80's poseur style and build new move around that concept.

I basically just hang out and look good Dave P. said of his rudimentary skills as an over-the-hill athlete and heavy user of the Mental health system. I tend to channel ridiculous psychadelic nonsense.I don't have a criminal record but they say skateboarding leads to harder crimes and I firml;y believe we should be charged criminally for this trick as being pure fakery". he insisted.

A contemplative man of few words, David V. was little more subdued than David P's outlandish and energized macho obviousness, and added "oh bother, whatever...Parker-world"

Both dave and dave are the sons of engineers (Civil/Metalurgical, respectively). My grandfather and uncle are both engineers too, P. added. Its in our blood and i would say with conviction that this is why our approach to skating is so technical, and not superfluous.

The pair belong to a loose skater crew who all met at Yale highschool in the late nineties. Past and present members and possible yet unnamed influences include derek "dewey" and geoff 2 pear ahman and jp burnout that continue to this day to get together to try and recapture old glory.
