Assam Vilasini ( আসাম বিলাসিনী ১৮৭১ - ১৮৮৩)  :

The 2nd news paper of Assamese language is "The Assam Vilasini". Late Satradhikar Shri Dutta Dev Goswami this paper give the first step for this paper.

            Alarmed by the ever increasing attraction of the general public towards Christianity, Assam luxury was born as a hindu propaganda to the press and news papers against the propagation of Missionary Christianity. It is also known as a positive revolution in the history of news paper  in assam. Sridhar  Baruah was instrumental  in the act of editing and promoting Assam luxury journals. The paper size of the eight back sheet with three columns on each back was 11×8 . 
                
            The " Assam Vilasini" came out of Majuli's dharmaprakash machine monthly in 1871 under the care of Auniati satradhikar Dattadev Goswami and left 1883; It was withtaken again from Jorhat in 1913, but was finally lifted.
