[edit]The film Leap directed by Chen Kexin[2] mainly depicts the hard struggle of several generation of Chinese women's volleyball teams. In which a series of stories unfolder with Lang Ping as the protagonist, her team won the championship for the Chinese women's volleyball team, followed by her going through some things, then returning to China again as a coach, and finally, in 2016, the Chinese women's volleyball team won the championship again after 12 years.

- The casting process:A national search began a year before filming began. At first, Chen Kexin decided to find actors over 1.8m [7]and teach them volleyball and try shooting, but the effect was not good enough. The cast began auditioning among tens of thousands of volleyball players across the country, ranging from large and middle school teams to provincial teams and even former national team members. After six months of rounds of elimination and performance training, twelve actors were finally selected to play the role of the old women's volleyball team. One of them, Chen Zhan, is a former national player who went to the 2014 World Championship with the Chinese women's Volleyball team. After several rounds of selection, she finally played the role of Sun Jinfang.
- The filming process: In the film, the three most difficult matches were the Jiangsu Men's Volleyball team's match against the Old Chinese women's volleyball team in the Osaka World Cup and the Rio Olympic Games. [8]The Jiangsu men's volleyball team used the traditional film split method to shoot, that is, to separate the shots one by one. At that time, only one camera was used to follow the shots one by one and the shooting lasted for six days. The second game was a lot longer, there was no shooting, six traditional film machines were used to try to get the shots of the serves and the points exactly to the same footage, but the photographer cannot control because the players couldn't repeat every shot, every move. There were six machines in six days, and they were cut together. But the efficiency is not enough, the photographer is cinematographers, grasp the ball enough, really beat up a lot of can't catch the ball So the last match between China and Pakistan in 2016, or in the way of sino-japanese match, the 6 machine, and professional sports channel for volleyball's photographer, added up to 12 machine taken together.
- High frame rate shooting: CINITY's name comes from Cinema+Infinity. This Cinema system claims to integrate the latest technology in the field of film projection :4K 3D, high brightness, high frame rate, wide color gamut and high dynamic range Immersive sound, which also has high frame rate projection.
The film reflects the volleyball training environment in China in the 1980s. Facing the rough and harsh training of coach Yuan Weimin, Lang Ping and the women's volleyball team persevered, which reflected the perseverance and constant struggle of the Chinese women's volleyball team. At the same time, they managed to beat the Japanese women's volleyball team. This established their position in the world of women's volleyball (VARIETY).
- In 1981, China won the women's volleyball World Cup in Japan under pressure to beat the host team, and started the glorious course of five consecutive titles.
- At the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games,[13] the Chinese women's Volleyball Team finally won the third place in the Beijing Olympic Games after five sets of fierce competition between China and the United States, which attracted great attention. China's performance has fluctuated since the Beijing Games, and they were knocked out of the top tier by a joint fifth-place finish at the 2012 London Games,[14] while Japan finished third. At that time, the National Women's Volleyball team was only in the second tier. However, the senior management of the National Women's Volleyball Team wanted to rebuild its momentum, so they invited many coaches with great achievements to discuss countermeasures. Finally, Lang Ping was appointed to lead the National women's Volleyball Team to rebuild its strength.
- In the "China-Brazil war", Brazil, as the home team and the champion of the two consecutive Olympic Games, had dreamed of winning the "three consecutive Olympic titles". Unfortunately, The Chinese women's volleyball team crushed their dream and eliminated them at last. In fact, China, with an all-time record of 1-18, was far behind Brazil before the match, winning the 2016 Olympic title against a formidable opponent when they were underdogs.[15]
The film grossed 57,907,000 yuan on its first day in the Chinese mainland and more than 100 million yuan the next day, bringing its cumulative box office in the first three days to 167,664,200 yuan as of midnight on Sept. 27. As of Oct. 12, the Chinese mainland box office had exceeded 700 million yuan. The final score was 834 million yuan.
Vilify Chen Zhong He: According to media reports, Chen Zhong He, the former coach of The Chinese women's volleyball team, accused the film of defaming his image by eating chicken legs and demanded that the film remove the content related to him.[19]
Name change event: Directed by Peter Chen and starring Gong Li, Huang Bo, Wu Gang, Peng Yuchang, Bai Lang, the Chinese national women's Volleyball team players, mainly tells the story of the Struggle of the Chinese women's volleyball team, and through their stubborn struggle to win glory for the motherland. Previously, the title of the film was "China Women's Volleyball team", but in pre-sale, the official title of the film suddenly changed to "Champion" one week before the release. Maybe it has something to do with the following. Chinese women's volleyball team, the term has been a symbol of a positive, hard to avoid some of the enterprise or a person using the heat of the Chinese women's volleyball team do announcement or profit behavior. Recently, the China volleyball association official, issued an announcement, safeguarding rights mainly refers to the individual companies and businesses, not the Chinese volleyball association authorized and unauthorized use of the Chinese women's volleyball collective portrait, Personal image or Chinese women's Volleyball team related logo, text for commercial publicity. The announcement did not specify who was responsible for the infringement, so I believe that the film authorities changed the title to "Champion" in order to avoid suspicion and minimize the exposure of the name of the Chinese women's Volleyball team.[20]
