Dasha Bazanova is a Russian artist, curator, and gallery director based in Bushwick/Ridgewood, New York. Born in 1986, Bazanova's work spans a variety of media, with a particular focus on sculpture and installation art. Her art is informed by her Russian heritage and her experiences as an immigrant in the United States.

Education Bazanova earned her master’s degree in commerce and marketing from Moscow State Institute of International Relations in 2011. Following her interest in the arts, she pursued an MFA at Long Island University (CW Post), which she completed in 2014. Her academic background has deeply influenced her curatorial and artistic practices, blending commercial acumen with creative expression.

Career After moving to the United States, Bazanova became active in the New York art scene, particularly in the vibrant communities of Bushwick, Brooklyn and Manhattan. For the past six years, she has worked as a manager, director, and curator at a small New York art gallery. She is also more recently a founder of her own Yellow Cat Gallery. During this time, she organized numerous exhibitions including the noted “Kiln Gods” ceramics show at Space 776 on the lower east side of NYC, the Group Text Show that debuted simultaneously in Chelsea NY and virtually on the Spacial platform visited via mobile devices or immersively through the use of vr goggles. She also was the first to incorporate over 30 contemporary artists into the historical Raynham Hall Museum, curating the American Dream exhibition (2024) and gained a reputation for her keen eye in contemporary art. In addition to her curatorial work, Bazanova is a practicing artist. Her sculptures and installations have been exhibited extensively in both the United States and internationally. Bazanova’s work often explores themes of identity, migration, and the intersection of personal and cultural narratives.
