Hi, I'm "Promethh". It's simply an alias I've been using since the early 1980's and not symbolic of anything. It's a short-form for 'Prometheus', but due to the constraints of IRC names became 'Prometh'. Due to a protracted nick war with another 'Prometh' resulting in scripted attacks and DDoS for both of us, I became 'promethh' (double 'h') to resolve the feud and remain unique.
I'm a UNIX Systems Administrator in northern Virginia. My areas of UNIX expertise are Solaris, Red Hat/Fedora, and FreeBSD. I'm am a Red Hat Certified Technician (RHCT), Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator (RHCSA) and just shy of my Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) due to my lack of SElinux use.
Prior to being a sysadmin, I was a programmer/analyst for over 10 years. My areas of expertise are software development, systems administration, modern literature, and console gaming.
