A native Southern Californian Dennis Murphy has spent a lifetime tied to the local coastal communities of Los Angeles and Orange Counties, today calling Newport Beach his home. As a consumer engagement specialist Dennis began his career passionately helping others reach their goals during the late 1970’s, early 1980’s advocating news media circulation for The Orange County Register, USAToday, The Daily Pilot then later telephony solutions for ComSystems Inc. and personal home security products for Westec Security.
Looking for greater enrichment in the early 1990’s Dennis sought out roles in the office space décor environment providing capital acquisition strategies and liquidation services for brands such as Herman Miller, Hayworth, Steelcase as well as AT&T, Northern Telecom, NEC, Rolm and Mitel. In the mid 1990’s, Dennis was recruited by client who offered a unique position delivering high tech staffing solutions that put him at ground zero for the dot.com revolution as the internet went online around the world and in Mountain View CA in 1995, a hub of Silicon Valley, where he won opportunities at AirTouch Communications, Exodus Communications, NASA, Trusted Information Systems and many others.
Obtaining his real estate license in 1998, Dennis learned the mortgage industry from the ground up through an industry champion who taught him to be engaged, pursue absolute credibility and that real estate was not rocket science. Dennis established himself early in an office of giants competing often for second in production opposite his mentor who was in the top 20 across the United States for mortgage origination. As the 1990’s came to a close, Dennis was drafted by a mutual friend to an opportunity with a startup which ultimately became Century21 of the Tri-Valley in Dublin CA. There he connected buyers and sellers to opportunities in the market while providing construction lending solutions and streamline no cost refinances to those in multiple counties across Northern and Central California for nearly a decade.
When the downturn of the recession hit in 2007, Dennis adjusted by returning to college full-time for a formal education in Business Marketing, Mass Communications, Radio/ Television Broadcasting and Digital Media at Chabot College in Hayward CA, Tom Hanks Alma Mater. From 2007 to 2012 Dennis put himself through school, while raising his daughter Penelope Jane as a single parent and earned multiple degrees completing some 185 units. After a brief stint in broadcasting with Salem Communications in San Francisco at KFAX AM1100 -KDOW AM1220, Dennis returned home to Orange County in 2013 to enjoy a long deserved vacation on Doheny State Beach. As he contemplated the future, he was contacted by Zillow Inc. who invited him to tour their Irvine office and interview for an Inside Sales position. The decision before him, Keller Williams San Clemente who had offered him a commissionable spot on well establish team or the largest platform of buyers and sellers in North America Zillow.com.
In August of 2015, during the ZillowGroup Inc. formation (a merger between Zillow and Trulia), Dennis was promoted to Business Consultant Class and assigned a book of 435 accounts representing nearly $200,000 in monthly reoccurring advertising revenue.
