Professor Emmanuel Kamlipe Kaunda

Professor Emmanuel Kamlipe Kaunda is the Vice Chancellor of Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR), a distinguished academic leader with extensive experience in higher education management and a significant contribution to the advancement of aquaculture and fisheries science in Malawi and beyond.[1]Cite error: A <ref> tag is missing the closing </ref> (see the help page).

In addition to his institutional leadership, Prof. Kaunda has played pivotal roles in national and international initiatives. He currently serves as the MW2063 Human Capital Development Champion under the National Planning Commission, demonstrating his commitment to shaping Malawi's educational landscape.[2] Moreover, his international engagements include serving as an International Board Member of the African Center for Aquatic Research and Education (ACARE). Prof. Kaunda's dedication to aquaculture development and scientific research has garnered widespread recognition. In 2013, he received the Impact Research and Science in Africa (IMPRESSA) Award from the Regional Universities Forum for Agriculture Research (RUFORUM), underscoring his significant contributions to the field. Additionally, his leadership as the President of the Pan African Fish and Fisheries Association (PAFFA) reflects his commitment to advancing fisheries science at a continental level.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Prof. Kaunda is deeply involved in community development initiatives. He co-founded the Kawjo Foundation, a non-profit organization that has made substantial positive impacts on the livelihoods of fish farmers in Malawi.
