I have an academic background in political science and international development, and have done a fair bit of work in the policy realm in these areas. I currently work in health care, in the knowledge management field.
I have a practical background in farming, at least flat land Canadian prairie farming. A certain amount of cow-hand experience, mostly calf-hand - I prefer to leave the cows to the boys.
I also have a wide range of interests outside of work. I particularly enjoy reading history, and tend to buy a huge pile of local books any time I go on a vacation (I came back from Maui a few years ago with about 40 books - cooking, history, politics, folklore, poetry, geography).
Hobbies include photography, gardening, cooking...the usual suspects. I look forward to making a contribution.
