Known for<www.mspnotebook.com>, Cricket, football, kabaddi Rakesh Kumar Yadav, a young man from Balia, Uttar Pradesh who is an angel to many young and aspiring athletes in India. He started his journey with Puma India, in Bangalore in 2012.

His journey of supporting young athletes started when he met athletes in Bangalore who were struggling to meet their basic needs like not having access to grounds, purchasing jersey and sports equipment were luxury to them. He went out of the way and helped them in getting kits, jerseys from Puma and sometimes from his own pocket as well. He continued to work there for a few years and realized there are a lot more other players who have talent and are struggling to meet their basic needs. He met few players in Uttar Pradesh and in 2019 took a plunge to open the Dream Sports Academy in Banaras and second academy he is opening up in Chitrakoot.

He believes in India, only elite athletes, national and international players get opportunities and sponsorships, but the support for grassroots sports persons is very meagre. Though there are plenty of sports enthusiasts in India, the opportunities available for them are meagre. There are no proper coaches, broken infrastructure, no sponsorship and no training facilities for budding athletes. Support for grassroots players in India is absent.

His goal is to help underprivileged to full fill their dreams. His vision is to make champions in India and he believes in every nook and corner, there is no shortage of talent. All they need is support and some funds to go forward.

Rakesh’s aims to bring young Indian athletes under the global limelight and break barriers for athletes.

Dreamz Sports Academy Providing Underprivileged Kids with Equal Sports Opportunities Located in Varanasi, Dreamz Sports Academy is helping the underprivileged kids by giving them a fair shot in life through equal opportunities. Rakesh Kumar Yadav, the founder of this academy aims to make India into a global powerhouse in sports and turn Indian athletes in household names all over the world.

Background The idea behind setting up this academy came in Rakesh’s mind way before he finally introduced it in 2019. Dreamz Sports Academy aims to help athletes who don’t have proper kits and ground to do the practice. The academy is majorly dedicated to the students from the economically weaker background, facing financial issues.

After seeing all these issues, he started meeting some of the young athletes to have a better understanding of them. To provide hem with better facilities, he launched his first multi-sports academy in Varanasi. He currently aims to start a cricket academy Chitrakoot shortly.

About the Academy Dreamz Sports Academy currently offers three sports to its athletes: cricket, football and kabaddi. Apart from providing training facilities, they also try to send sports kits, gears and energy drinks to the needy athletes worldwide. Not just India, athletes from nations like Afghanistan and Bangladesh are also helped by the academy.

About the Founder The journey of Rakesh Kumar Yadav begins with the small village of Balia in Uttar Pradesh. Being an ardent sports enthusiast since childhood, he spent most of his childhood playing different sports only. In search of work, Rakesh moved to the city of Bangalore, Karnataka and started working at Puma India. His life completely changed from there, as Rakesh says.

After working for a few years, he decided to help the Indian athletes and went back to pursue this passion. After identifying the athletes’ problems like not having access to grounds, difficulty in purchasing jerseys and sports equipment are a few to name.

“I belong to a village where meeting international athletes is merely a dream. It’s an honour for me that my dreams came true after getting a job in Puma. I not only met strings of international global superstars such as Usain Bolt and Virat Kohli but also got the opportunity to work with them. Now, my sole aim is to nourish more Indian athletes who can compete at the international level.”
