Bal Mukund
He was born in 1889 at village Kariala,District Jhelum (now in Pakistan)and his father's name was Bhai Mathura das.He was a daring revolutionary of early twentieth century and hailed from family of the famous martyr of Sikh history,Bhai Mati Das.After graduation Balmukund took to the profession of teaching.His interest in national movement aroused while he was a student.The event of 1907 had great impact on his mind and he became an ardent nationalist.
on 1912 when Lord Harding was marching in state through the Chandani Chowk,Delhi a bomb was thrown on him. Although wounded in the attempt, the Viceroy escaped with his injuries, along with Lady Hardinge, but his Mahout was killed in the attack.About 5 month later on 17th May 1913 a bomb was exploded at Lahore outside Montgomery hall where Europeans were enjoying ball.Following investigation balmukund was arrested from Jodhpur where he was working as tutor to Jodhpur's prince.
He was sentenced to death on 5th October 5,1914 at end of trial which held at Delhi.Bal Mukund was hanged in Ambala jail on May 11,1915.He was only 32 years old at that time
