Controller General of Accounts new article content ...In 1976,a new office of controller general of accounts was established as a part of the Department of Expenditure of Indian Ministry of Finance.He is to administer matters related to depatmentalization of accounts of the central government.He is responsible for 1.prescribing general principles and form of accounts of central as well as state governments and frame rules. 2.carries out budget control,payment receipt collectionand accounting functions for the central govt. 3.provides regular feedback to finance minister 4.provides technical advice to civil ministries and departments on accounting matters and it is binding. 5resposible for accounting of pension payments government employees retiring from all civil ministries.
